Bring the joy of horses and horseback riding to your children!

Sign them up for Lakewood Stables NEW Summer Camp Program.
   

Our weekly summer camp program creates an atmosphere where a special relationship forms between the children and the horses, where they learn to respect and admire these beautiful creatures.

They learn the basics of horse care, washing, grooming, feeding and education on equipment and enjoy horseback riding on the trails. Campers take a break during lunchtime in our air-conditioned and renovated Club House.

Summer Horseback Riding Camp Nassau County West Hempstead
Conveniently located on the South Shore of Nassau County we provide a safe place where children learn from each other as well as from our trained and dedicated staff on the basics of horseback riding and other equine activities.
The program is a weekly program from 9am to 3pm, with a one-hour break in our newly renovated Club House, with views of riding arena.

Some of the great programs that take place during the week include the following:

  • Barn Tour & Introduction
  • Scavenger hunts
  • Safety rules
  • Learn parts of tack
  • Learn colors and breeds of the horses
  • Bridle races
  • Ring rides
  • Red light, green light, ON A HORSE!
  • Trail rides in Hempstead Lake State Park
  • Bran Mash Day (Everyone’s Favorite Day!)
  • Learning how to care for the tack and stalls
  • Riding styles & disciplines
  • Riding clothing
Our program is completely designed and managed by Tish Tagliaferri, a licensed and certified school teacher, who has 10+ years experience working with children and specifically with horseback riding camps. Her number one goal is to provide each child with a safe, fun and exciting week at camp!

Cost for camp is $395.
A deposit of $150 is required with the submission of the application.

DISCOUNT!
If you sign up the same child for more than one week,
each additional week is 10% off.

SIBLING DISCOUNTS
If you sign up siblings,the first pays full price and additional siblings 10% off.

Children must be between the ages of 8 and 15 years old. Tipping is not required but appreciated. Cost of camp includes a kit and a helmet for each child, but we will also have helmets in all sizes available for sale if you would like to buy one of your own.

Deposits are only refundable until June 1st. There will be NO refunds unless your child has a medical illness, in which case a doctor's note must be provided.

Riding time may be lessened due to weather conditions, including temperatures of 90+ degrees or rain. Other activities will be substituted during this time.

Application must be submitted with the Horse Rental Agreement and Liability Release Form to be accepted.
