Private Lessons

Our professional instructors come from various backgrounds and disciplines. They are able to teach anywhere from basic horsemanship to competition level.

We offer private english and western lessons for beginner through advanced levels.

We suggest that all beginners take 30 minute private lessons to start. After permission is given by the instructor, they may opt to join a group lesson.

Horse Shows

Lakewood Stables offers schooling shows all year round for all of our students.

We start from Leadline all the way up to a Mini-Medal / Mclay course to Barrel Racing.

Our shows give all of our students a taste of competition in a familiar setting with our school horses.

Group Lessons

Anyone wishing to join our groups must have prior permission from their instructor. Groups require 3 ore more students and vary from intermediate level to advanced jump.

GROUP LESSON LEVELS

  • NOVICE:
    Emphasis will be on the correct diagonal. Beginner basics will be reviewed.
  • INTERMEDIATE:
    Will be taught to canter and the correct lead.
  • ADVANCED:
    Will concentrate on the finer points of riding along with preparation for jumping.
  • BEGINNER JUMP:
    Students will be taught the basics necessary for jumping, starting with cross rails.
